Are we seeing the start of a 'new' running shoe trend?

In Athletic Footwear

I read with interest a recent article in Runner's World, which proclaimed 'Forefoot flex grooves seem to be a thing of the past, and shoes across the spectrum are harder to bend. Credit that to the increased thickness of the midsoles, the desire for more cushioning under the forefoot, and the light foam being used.'

The RW article brings up an interesting point.. not neccessarily one I agree with, but interesting all the same..
