In a discussion that has lacked clarity from all sides, this paper comes along to spread some oil on troubled waters! As someone at the frontline of the discussion since its inception in early 2009, it has often felt like I am having discussions with an irascible and stubborn child!

Thankfully, the authors of this excellent review paper have no agenda, no affiliation with the running shoe indusrty or barefoot minimalist movement, and so are able to dispassionately discuss all aspects of the purported pros and cons of the discussion. I commend this paper, which may be read in its entirity here, to you most strongly.
